Consumer Protection & Governance Reform

On the front of consumer protection movement and governance reforms, Project Swarajya has undertaken several activities during the year under review.

Maintenance of District Consumer Information Centre, Cuttack

Project Swarajya has been running District Consumer Information Centre for Cuttack district in its premises since 2003. This year on behalf of the DCIC several activities have been done. Throughout the year the Centre continued to disseminate various kinds of information as and when demanded by the public, interested persons from Govt or non-Govt agencies, media persons, etc. That apart the DCIC provide space to various organisations having right based approach to organise press meet in the interest of general public for common purposes. On behalf of District Consumer Information Centre, Project Swarajya has been running a library in its premises for last 15 years. The library is well stocked with copies of various schemes, guidelines, and legal documents for reference to users. The organisation has also a series of reports and publications on issues of drug abuse, consumer rights, and violence on women, environment protection and conservation of endangered species.
